Well... my first game of MegaMek ended in what I'll refer to as "glorious defeat."
(In other words, my last Mek got destroyed by a kick :P)

If you need an opponent for playing, just let me know, I also use MegaMek from time to time, though nothing beats the real thing: On a huge table, with a short way to the kitchen, with lots of great people around and maybe play for 26 hours...ok, that must not happen too often. But it was sure one big epic fight to remember.

I've been having a look at the available Classic Battletech products available, and am I blind or are there no models whatsoever?

What models do you need? Miniatures for playing off-line or something bigger?

BTW: C++11 will finally come as new standard this year :)

Don't worry about the minatures, I've found a few websites selling them, but it is odd that they aren't listed on the official website's products page.

Anyway, if I'm ever looking for a human opponent in MegaMek I'll let you know and we can set up a game some time.

That is because the company only designs the units and sells the books, but not the miniatures.

if you need something big: http://www.timdp.members.sonic.net/battletech/

Otherwise: http://ironwindmetals.com/d/

If you look for something special: http://www.lordsofthebattlefield.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=356818#356818

I just installed Orbiter onto my laptop.
I feel like I'm using Orbiter 2010 for the first time. O_o I don't remember Earth looking so nice (particularly at night) nor do I remember the celestial background option. Maybe that was in the patch. :P (or maybe I've been using Orbiter 2006 more than I thought and 2010 less)

I was in Tex's neck of the woods last night, fishing. I caught three fish, all just a bit too small to keep. I felt bad for one of them: when I threw him back, I accidentally slammed him into a rock. Sorry fish.

They look great for quick doodles.
I've been meaning to get a drawing pad for my pc for some time, although I'm not sure what good it'd do without better software.

Any one notice what happens to this quote on tapatalk :D

For example, this is a stock scenario, [DG] Docked at ISS:
Code:

Notice how in that .scn, there are 2 DG's
Code:

  GEAR 0 0.0
  NOSECONE 1 1.0
  AIRLOCK 0 0.0000
  SKIN BLUE
END
See how GL-01 is landed on Habana. It is red.
GL-02 has the SKIN BLUE tag at the bottom of it's entry, so it is blue.
This can not be changed via scenario editor. Open a .scn (found in Orbiter/Scenarios) with notepad and add SKIN BLUE to the DG you want to change.

jimblah is no more

Last night jimblah lost the struggle during a hack attack on his mbr. The pain was too much for him to withstand. May he rest in peace.
