After having still not really played Orbiter for a month months, I've finally decided to start fresh with a new install. It's taken me a long time, but I'm finally going to start playing Orbiter again.
*Waits for applause that will never come*

I will also probably get Black Ops in a couple weeks.

GET IT! The story is really good, the multiplayer challenging, and the zombies just beat the crap out me every time.

EDIT: even if you're not good at multiplayer, you can do combat training, which is where you play against AI bots to practice your skills and what guns and perks fit you best.

This is exactly what I have been hoping for and has been missing from a lot of the modern FPS in my opinion (at least the ones I've played, anyway). I'd like to get into mulitplayer, but have no one to practice with offline, and as a result I get slaughtered as soon as I step on the battlefield. Every time.

Thanks for the heads-up on that feature.

Silly games. It's fun to play but leaves an aftertaste of oxymoron.
I just find it a great way to blow off steam after work. Plus Modern Warfare 2 had a great story line I thought, with several unexpected plot twists. Also enjoying the Spec Ops missions, which are small side-missions with varying difficulty levels that each touch on a different aspect of the full game (one mission is all about defending a sniper perch, another is about being stealthy). These work to hone your in-game skills for the campaign, but I don't think they do much for multiplayer abilities.

This is the third >20 hour power outage I've had in 2011. Something is not right.
Edit: Can anyone tell me some ways to entertain myself during an outage?

Last time I tried to entertain myself during an outage, I locked my phone's SIM card - I turned my PIN code off long, long ago and then tried to guess the code and change it. Turns out I was only allowed 3 tries... then I tried to guess the PUK code (8 digit number, how many possibilities could there be, right? Answer: 100 million)

I finally got a generator :D

Character from Haruhi. Can't remember offhand what her name is, having not actually watched it. :P

Totally not giving myself away as a nerd here... :shifty:
Well, you got the anime right at least. :P
Now lets see who can get the character right.

The character depicted is Yuki Nagato.

It is from Haruhi Suzumiya (涼宮ハルヒ Suzumiya Haruhi), a general name for a series of light novels written by Nagaru Tanigawa and illustrated by Noizi Ito which were subsequently adapted into other media. The story follows the title character Haruhi Suzumiya, a high school girl who can unconsciously change reality, and her strange antics with her school club, the SOS Brigade.

Great Wikipedia copy/paste by the way.

Bro.

Edit: For quite I while I've been hearing about this game series called Touhou and it looks awesome I have two quick questions for anyone who may happen to know the answer.
1: Are there English versions?
2: Where can I buy them online? (I've searched eBay and only found figurines and posters and I've never seen a shop that sells games from outside Australia.)

I just downloaded the demo for Tohou 13, and holy :censored: am I addicted.
Somebody please tell me that I can buy these online somewhere! (I know that Ten Desires isn't out yet, but any of the Windows games will do, any that work on Windows 7, that is.)

1. Yes, there are fanlated patches at http://www.gensokyo.org
2. No idea, to be honest. I managed to get ahold of a few through a local guru I know; no idea how he got them, or what has since become of him... If you understand Japanese, you'll probably be able to find a website to order them. I don't, so I can't help you there.

There's a decent wiki for it that probably has more information.

I played the Ten Desires demo too. To be honest, I didn't like it much. It was too easy compared to earlier games, still has Sanae despite my everpresent hatred of her, and reduced Yuyuko to a mere first-stage. The character artwork is somewhat less hideous to behold, though.

I kinda had to post this because my power outage is over.
