Sounds a bit optimistic.

Thing is, how is anything remotely delicate going to survive... (quick back of envelope calculation..........)

...17,500g?!

I thought cannon techniques were only any good for kinetic weapons. And firing UMMUs into outer space in Orbiter.

You're right about the optimism. I was starting to wonder why on Earth NASA wasted time with the Shuttle and didn't switch to hydrogen cannons...

Quick and cheap launch of bulk material into orbit.
Instead of launching tiny whole modules you launch a box of girders and plates, and weld a big station in orbit.

Or just fire a fuel tank. A big piece of palladium full of hydrogen, or a metallic sponge filled with kerosene, etc. Survival is not so big an issue.

very optimistic if you ask me, and putting pressures like that inside a "tube" is just asking for trouble

just stick with the traditional (launch a huge rocket) technique; its worked thus far
