Afternoon all, in my somewhat hungover state of antipathy this morning I accidentally clicked the "upgrade firefox to 3" button and now I'm stuck looking at something drawing by someone whose age I would estimate as 3 years old.

My question, is there any way to get firefox back to looking like firefox 2? That was nice and simple, plus didn't have moronic bubbly buttons everywhere.
My secondary question, is there any way to get the old address bar back? The new one is slow and painful, the old one was fast and vaguely useful..

You could always go back to version 2...
Seriously, I have no clue. Firefox is nice, but Opera has everything I need, want and like without having to get dozens of addons...
If you have never experienced the greatness of the only realy standard compliant browser, this might be the time to try it.

Mine looks pretty much the same as I remember Firefox 2 (I've been using Firefox 3 since beta, so it's a long time since I used 2). Is there a 'theme' option you could change?

Note that you can right-click on the menu bar area, select 'customise' and then drag and drop the buttons and things to reorganise it or remove things you don't use (e.g. I removed the print button since I have no printer).

The only change I have in my firefox is the size of the "forward in history" button, which is smaller now. The new searching address line is a nice feature, but not necessary. That it also searches in search form fields on wikipedia is cool, makes it easier to find articles.

I've gone back to firefox 2. It's faster, crashes less (i.e: never) and looks better. Thanks for the advice though fellas, but I don't want to waste time fiddling around with themes and stuff, no idea how they work so it'd probably take ages.

Urwumpe, just about everything had changed in my copy. Address bar was radically different, bookmarks were different, buttons were different, tab layout was different. Performance was very different (used 20MB more RAM and stuttered during streaming video).
