I must be the only person in my area who's put his humming bird feeder back up since Gustav. I did it Tuesday 2 Sep, the 2nd thing I did after putting my squirrel feeder back up. The birds are still acting like they can't eat anywhere else. I'm pouring nearly 1 gallon a day down their throats. Prior to the storm, it was maybe 1 cup per week.

Anyway, the title of this thread refers to how things were around here for people prior to a couple of days ago when local fuel stations came back online. If you wanted to keep your generator going, you had to wait for hours.

It's interesting to note that humans managed this with a whole lot less hate and discontent than hummingbirds do. Of course, we had cops to keep order, whereas the birds just fight constantly ;).

Anyway, so much for the argument that us rightwingers don't care about the environment or the critters in it :rofl:
