Orbiter Video Thread

I made this video explanation to answer a question that was posted to my youtube channel. I thought some people here might find this useful as well.

Just for fun:

After carefully planning and preparing hundreds of burns, sometimes I just want to get there with six minutes and some cheesy sound effects.

FULL SPEED AHEAD, CAP'N!

That noise is me on the mic, trying not to laugh. Sometimes things go wrong in ways you never expect.

Not very artistic, but a nice scenario to fly.

Hope you like it. Thanks to jangofett287 for starting the thread.

Have been playing around with re-entry (i.e. entry into the atmosphere...) effects

My old "propaganda" video from 2003. I'm currently working on a scene-for-scene update (or nearly so) in 2010 P1.

Odd, why did it not parse the link into an embedded video? What might I be doing wrong?

For whatever reason, this was in my tag suggestions while uploading:

WHO IS THOMAS?

WHO IS THOMAS?

Thats a nice looking flying machine there .

Depends on what youtube is using to suggest your tags I guess. If the word "Engine" is in there, it might be a reference to "Thomas the tank Engine"?

That was part of my childhood

All the mesh-related visuals are thanks to 80mileshigh. I'd nothing to do with that. :)

Must be. Bit of a stretch, though, eh?

My updated "Soviet propaganda" video is finished! It's not exactly shot-for-shot, as some of the animations took longer or happened at different times, but it's pretty close. Enjoy!

Alpine trip in high resolution

Another sneaky peek into things to come (I realise that I have somewhat of an unfair advantage in this thread, but there you go - developer's privilege )

Taking a Delta-glider for a spin over the Alps, with selfmade Landsat-based textures:

Astonishing view. Can't wait to fly my DG along Valles Marineris.

Oh my :hailprobe:
This is more than perfect; the missing piece of the Planet Puzzle on Orbiter is being born!

Would love to see one of those approaches into Innsbruck. (Actually, NDBs would be another useful feaure for that kind of stuff)

It looks there like Orbiter may become a flightsim in its own right.

Perhaps it needs a new name

Orbiter and Flyer?

Oh, great, another thing to anxiously, with bated breath and whispering humbleness, anticipate. Not like I (and many others I hope) don't have enough of this already. (Nice to see someone else using the old DG in all its glory, especially a certain someone).

The ex-Commissar of the Red Army is quite pleased.
