Here it is Phoenix Mars Lander as seen from Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter passing above it few orbits after landing, with it's powerful camera (Telescope MFD :P :P).
Solar panels have deployed nominally, as the camera and wind detector.

i'm conducting 4 missions together in the same scenario
Spirit and Opportunity, MRO and Phoenix just landed, all flawn from Earth to Mars (MRO areobrake took me from 30 march 2006 to 5 October 2006!!)

If "they" where first?

A little sumfin I made using AMSO, the (very old and outdated) N1 package, Orbiter flags and UMmu, just couldn't resist it...

Here are some pics I took tonight using some of Greg Bursch's amazing add-ons for another of my "station building" projects, specifically the Space Station Building Blocks (I love these), the Big Space Plane 4, and Greg's newest, SwiftSS. The Swift, btw, I found to be a dream to fly, and if you're reading this Greg, I had a fantastic time taking her up into orbit to dock with my work in progress. Thank you for designing her. :)

Anyway, to the pics.

This first shop was taken on ascent with the Big Spaceplane and its air-breathing carrier aircraft. Obviously taken at dawn, it was followed by a nominal orbital insertion just a few minutes later with the Big Spaceplane and her station-bound cargo. Take-off took place from Spaceport Amazonia.

This second shot is just prior to docking with my currently under-construction space station. The station (yet unnamed) has an equatorial orbit with a Pe at around 160km and a Ap of 2.2Mm. This unique orbit means that it can conduct science that needs very-high atmospheric conditions to work with, yet are mostly in the realm of space. For those wondering, yes, the station does need frequent reboots. I have been relying on the Big Spaceplane for this duty, and it has performed admirably. Flights to the station are once a week on average. I bought a rather sizable fleet from Burschismo just recently... :)

This picture was taken a few "in Orbiter" days after docking and shows the latest Hab module to the station just having been attached. The first permanent crew now has a decent area in which to live, and life-support and other required systems will be maintained by the the Swift and onboard units in the node until their proper replacements can be brought up, assembled, and activiated. Undocking occured a day later.

Unfortunately, none of my re-entry pics were pastable into my clipboard, I got a nice Windows memory message when I tried. Since it's late, I'm giving up and going to bed. But yes, this was my project for tonight. Tomorrow the remaining truss segment, the first solar array, and few more hab modules will come up (plus anything I deem neccessary). I'll also be putting up the lifeboat system that comes with the Swift once the crew capacity exceeds the single Swift I have up their now. So far so good! :)

The Hubble Space Telescope following it's 6 day overhaul during the STS-109 mission in March 2002. Especially noteworthy is the the new rigid Solar Arrays, called SA3, tracking the sun to generate electrical power for its systems.

Heya Dave,

I fixed this post for you. When you upload a picture to the forum, avoid using {ATTACH}{/ATTACH}, simply upload the image to your post and the forum will automatically display a thumbnail for it.

Using attach BB tags causes problems for some and for me the image wouldn't even load. ;)

ESA Launches Prototype Flying Car

A spokesperson for the European Space Agency announced today that a car was inserted into orbit via an experimental diesel engine. The vehicle lifted off at 8:30 am Zulu time from the Rome Space Center.

"We just can't believe it," said an anonymous NASA engineer. "That car took off with just as much force and velocity as a chemical rocket, but it still gets 40 miles to the gallon. I don't know how they do it."

Rumors are spreading that a British special forces team abducted a small alien resembling a piece of poop last week. Some have theorized that this is how the car managed to fly. A group of students at the University of Alabama have already christened this hypothetical alien "ET".

More on this story as things develop.

Ah, that Alien-theory is too far-fetched. I think they simply got their hands on mr. Weasleys Car! :P
