Orbiter Screenshot Thread

Hey, I can see my house from there !!

My new Eagle. ... .
Original mesh is from James Murphy and tweaked by Jestr. I have also tweaked the textures etc. The rest will come from an old addon by Kev33.

Looks super nice  By all means use my updated Eagle textures and VC if you feel like it. Perhaps you already did use the textures, can't really tell since you have real 3d detail on the mesh :tiphat:
I have a normal mapped version of mine, still unreleased but I can send you the files.

I've been playing with textures and GIMP, and this is the result.

Protip: Don't use pure black in textures. You lose definition of the mesh. Like in that cargo container, it's hard to tell if it's a 3d shape or a 2d plane. Just make it really dark, and/or shade some faces a ever so slightly different darkness, to force some contrast back in.

Thanks 4thRock, no, they are all new textures. Please check you PM.
Here is another piccy

Took me a long time to get the engine reflection right. Possibly a little too much, but I used the lowest possible 0.000001 reflection. Also added emissive and freshnel

The Iron Hill Discovery mission, now 3 days away from Mercury

And, also in the area, the MESSENGER spacecraft appeared to be in the midst of another close approach. Not sure if the orbital elements are actually accurate though.

It's amazing how R-7-derived launchers still exist to this day.

You would be even more amazed to know that the iconic Vostok spherical return module, or at least a derivative of it, is still in use today, and one of them is flying next week!

(more on that in a few days' time....)

The world's most dangerous and boldest spaceflight test. Ever. 32 years to this day!

My first ever successful interplanetary transfer...i'm enjoying the scenery too. :P

Pretty sweet moment isnt it? My first one was to Mercury in a Bullet spacecraft. The first time your target shows a disk is really exciting.
