Orbiter Screenshot Thread

Interesting concept. You'll need to get back to the mothership to recharge batteries quite a lot, I guess. I assume it also has additional propellant for the "little one"? And you better hope those two people don't eat each other in there (thankfully not simulated by IMS :shifty: )

Yeah, I orginally designed it with the SSB4.0 nuclear reactor dragging off the back but thought that seemed excessive. The mission plan is not to leave the mothership at all if they can help it. I'd be more worried about the microgravity environment....

Having the habitat be detachable gives some flexibility to the architecture as an identical mothership can also preplace propellants for return or landers or stations or what have you and not hold your "piloted" and "cargo" vehicles to different standards. Then it might make sense to have the crew hooked up to something else.

Right now I'm working on a "cargo trailer" headed by a modified truss element with a docking port replacing one of the construction ports since I like the aesthetic of how the cargo grapples slot over the truss when it is docked lengthwise

How you do that?

By editing alpha channel of hud.dds located in "Textures/Cockpit/" folder.

Also the Glasspit.dds, Glasspit_blue.dds and so on, in the same folder for the upper left corner (Propelant, engines, etc) and the textures\font1tex.dds to change the upper right corner (date, sim, fov, etc).

For the "Paused" button and size, it was the DialogFont_Scale and DialogFont1_Face in the font parameters of Orbiter.cfg

It was not as simple as I thought it would be, I had to make sure that each new character used exactly the same space as the original font.

Now I'm trying to find a way to change the font in the annotation. I figured out one method, but it involves replacing the Arial font in Windows, which also changes a lot of other things.

To my surprise, the rest of the buttons of the MFD stayed with the old font.

Thanks. :D I'm planning to implement Nano-particle field extraction thrusters as attitude control and it will be part of Themis-A release as payload. Main mirror is 3.9 meter wide.

ky: that Atlantis' mesh looks really strange (fuselage above cockpit) - is that default Atlantis, SSU or SF?

Hmm - maybe "play of light" and those angles/perspective then :D

or maybe I'm playing too much with my designs :/

Your own designs are always more fun.

Is that a D-18 Hyper Hornet?

Surely we do not have people here who suggest there is an equal in beauty to the Space Shuttle? I would find that argument to be most baseless.

I thought Buran had nice lines... Thought she was every bit as pretty as the shuttle. I'm a fan of MAKS as well.

I'm content with the shuttle. She's a beaut. Especially with those STS-1 & 2 white SRB's. :D

Too bad paint has mass, eh?
