hehe we have a contest of nice crawlers and launch vehicles complexes !

I don't treat it as a contest - SSU will be much more complex and detailed add-on than ETS and I can't even dream about comparing to that project.

While SSU is focusing on simulating details to the last screw of the STS, my goal is to create moderatelly complex and user friendly add-on (most configuration will be done within the simulation), with versatile Launch Vehicle and bunch of interesting & usefull (I hope :p) payloads.

Same subject, different angle, now the mobile Shuttle Assembly Building (SAB) is in the FOV:

Are you sure it is not the flag of the Ivory Coast?
Flag_of_Cote_d%27Ivoire.svg

Flag_of_Ireland.svg

They are very similar.

Seeking some inspiration to throw myself into improving it, I got the 7k-OKS out of the hangar once more, after some time grounded...
So here's Soyuz 11. (For obvious reasons, no pics of the landing)

Um . . .

const_towing_1.jpg

All I've got to say at this point is . . . whoever's driving that towing truck had better have the right stuff.

They'd also have to construct a new processing facility near the runway. There is no WAY that Vanguard would clear the buildings and parking lots between the SLF and the OPFs.

This might dash my (*ahem*) new vision for NASA's manned space program. If they dump this bird into the drink before it even gets to the runway . . .

Sorry. Just another late-night musing . . .

Preparing for tomorrows launch for a 3 day orbital test flight.

The XL-70 will be flown by Christine and Andrew (the woman and the guy next to XL-70s nose weel). HyperDart will be flown by Dough (left as seen by Christine) and mission specialist Chris (right as seen by Christine).

There is 1 scheduled EVA to test the airlock.

(This will be my first flight with the HyperDart)
