Finally finished the mesh, exported it & got the Dll running in Orbiter. Definitely the most intense development work Ive done so far, but its the best by far.
I decided to insert the Aquila into a scenario I had been running with a Shuttle-D in lunar orbit, 40 km high. (no need for a PDI burn here)

The Aquila "down among em" (its on the lunar far side if you were wondering)
in fact, a little too down & among em, descending at 100 m/s while still traveling at 800 m/s sideways, resulting in a lithobraking landing.
Engine thrust was clearly too low, so I upped it to 29 kN, works like a charm. I managed to land safely on my second try, quite a thrill.
