After they finished on Earth...they moved to the moon; GDI Miner and outpost in the Descartes Highlands region:

The year is 2038, UCGO is a mining corporation with several outposts and prospecting sites on the moon. It's biggest competition is the Jovian Mining Corporation (JMC).

With future Shuttle missions set to move from real reality to virtual reality, I've decided that a refurbishment of the stock K-LC39B pad is in order. Here a few mid-development shots (I haven't quite mustered the courage to attack the tower yet - I'm thinking about adopting an existing one ...)

Current mesh complexity: 1495 vertices, 1022 triangles.

Very nice! Will there be a better looking RSS if you decide to make the tower?

What's my decision to make the tower got to do with the attractiveness of the members of the Royal Statistical Society???

Nothing because it means rotating service structure. Also ,looks dont matter as long as there is a tower.

Seriously though, RSS in the proper context is short for Rotating Service Structure. The "tower" is called the Fixed Service Structure(FSS). The FSS is pretty easy from a modelling perspective as it is made up of several levels identical in design.

Each level is 6 m high and 12 m square. This is except for the first level which is 6.7 m high and 12 m square. There are a total of 12 levels. The Orbiter Access Arm is mounted on the 7th level which is also called the 195' level. One level above it mounted a special structural extension is the Intertank Access Arm and the GH2 vent line. The Gaseous Oxygen Vent Arm(GOX Vent Arm or GVA) is mounted between the 10th and 11th levels.

Since I didn't know how to use BaseSync and Aerobrake (at the time) I landed somewhere in the ocean. But due to the magic of the scenario editor and the probe I "landed safely":

Man I really should start playing Orbiter again, come to think of it I should start a new install...
*Installs Orbiter with d3d9 cleint, XR Fleet and planet textures*
Man, I forgot how long Orbiter takes to load, ah there we go.
*Flies XR2 to a roughly 1000km x 1000km orbit*

DX7 did not do the level 11 & 14 Earth textures justice...
