I hope this is the right section, but, whatever.

First, the installing part:

So I've been trying to get the Space Station Building blocks to work in conjunction with the XR5 (The REALLY big delta glider) I can get the SSBB to work (4.1b), but as soon as I install the XR5 ([ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3426"]XR5 Payload - Station Building Blocks 4.1[/ame]) and try to open a scenario with the XR5 it crashes to desktop and gives me an error. If I try to add in in the scenario editor, it doesn't even show up. (But all the SSBB's do)

So here's what I do/did:
Install spacecraft3.dll (http://users.swing.be/vinka/ The full package)
Install SSBB 4.0
Install SSBB 4.1b (Overwriting all)
Install XR5 (Overwriting all, from the above link)

Did I screw up here? How should it be done, alternatively, could someone point me to a pre-packaged SSBB and XR5 kit?

Second, the finding part:

I've been trying to find two things, the HARP gun addon, which a friend told me about, but I am unable to find on the orbiter hanger, and the second is a large (read HUGENORMUS) preferably multistage rocket that can carry large payloads (parts of the SSBB)

I know that there is a search function on the orbiter hanger, but I am weary of downloading something that may not work, and there are so many, and some are rated well, but only have 1 or 3 ratings. So I figured, why not ask.

I believe this is the HARP gun you're looking for: [ame="http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3439"]HARP[/ame] and this is a pretty nice launcher: [ame="http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=1036"]ENERGY project, release 4[/ame]

I'm not sure if all the SSBB parts will fit in though

On the installation part, the error message you're getting would be helpful for diagnosis, along with the contents of your Orbiter.log file. This is a text file which sits next to Orbiter.exe and gathers all the debug data produced when Orbiter runs.

Please post it here between [code][/code] tags so it doesn't take up a mile of screen space.

The error says that it's terminating after a terminal error, see log for details, here's the log (I think):

Off topic-Wow a new person that uses the box?

On topic-Looks like you didnt install the XR5 vanguard addon right

That's exactly what the error is. This is commonly caused by extracting to a folder with the archive name within the Orbiter root, so have a look for a folder named "XR5 Vanguard" or similar in the root Orbiter folder.

Failing that, extract the XR5 .zip file again into Orbiter and make sure you're preserving the file structure ("Extract full paths" in winRAR).

I can't find an XR5 folder in the root, and I think I found the problem, the file ([ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3426"]XR5 Payload - Station Building Blocks 4.1[/ame]) only has config, doc, and scenario folders. Is there a place that I can actually get the XR5?

EDIT: Thanks woo for those links.

Yes - the XR5 is a separate addon. Try looking here. I'd also highly recommend looking at the XR2 and XR1 on the same page - the XR2 is among the most popular ships used in the community.

Also I recommend installing JSGME you can find it here. http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products-jsgme.html
It will help you manage your addons. Your orbiter install will be more organized and you won't have a mess on your hands. On the note of trying to load space station parts into an XR5, it is easier to just use Payload Manager, you can find it here: http://www.kulch.spb.ru/Eng/PM_project.html
It is really easy to use.
As someone starting off in orbiter I recommend downloading the danstep addons: http://orbiter.dansteph.com/index.php?disp=d
The DGIV is great for beginners because of its autopilots.
