Question Orbiter mods never work

The closest thing I have to orbiter.cfg is "Orbiter" and it contains this:

; === ORBITER Master Configuration File ===
EchoAllParams = FALSE
LPadRect = 0 0 550 573

; === Logical parameters ===
FlightModel = 0
UnlimitedFuel = TRUE

; === Visual helper parameters ===
Planetarium = 4737

; === Physics engine ===
RadiationPressure = TRUE

; === Device settings ===
DeviceIndex = 1
ModeIndex = 8

; === Joystick parameters ===
JoystickIndex = 1

; === Active plugin list ===
ACTIVE_MODULES
ScnEditor
CustomMFD
END_MODULES

It doesn't have any of the codes that the thread about the bug mentioned.

Umm..... that's orbiter.cfg! :facepalm:

To quote Orb:

To ease searching for it, I recommend enabling showing file extensions in File Explorer's options, if you haven't done so.

It sounds like the reason the .cfg file extension isn't displayed is because File Explorer is configured to hide file extensions. For details on how to enable the display of file extensions, take a look here: How to show or hide file name extensions in Windows Explorer

Okay, I've tried the solution in bug reports, but it's saying "access denied" and won't let me save the edited version.

It sounds like Orbiter is installed under your Program Files folder. The simplest workaround is to reinstall Orbiter into a different folder outside of Program Files, such as C:\Orbiter.

Try re-open it by right clicking the Orbiter.cfg file and choose "Run as administrator". :tiphat:

But this won't fix the initial problem. Meyerm needs to move Orbiter outside of a UAC folder (what dbeachy1 said).

I tried dbeachy1's solution and finally success. The local light works perfectly, and so due the mods I've installed. Thanks everyone for bearing with me. I know my programming skills are sloppy at best.
