Problem Orbiter error (not shutting down properly)

Whenever i exit orbiter it does not seem to shut down properly as I get this error message whenever I try to log on to the Simulation again

***Another ORBITER application is already running***

Any help with this greatfully appreciated

Go to the [Extra] tab and you should see a button for 'debugging options'.
Of those, one selection is 'Orbiter Shutdown Options'

Mine is currently set to De-allocate memory and display launchpad dialog.

I have a similar issue on occasion, usually I'm faster on the mouse than Orbiter is to bring the launchpad back up, particularly with the D3D9...

Try Respawning Orbiter Process, and see if you have continued issues.

I have tried all that in Extras - but still no good
I can only do a Crtl Alt and Del and shut down using the Start Task Manager to exit Orbiter
