News ORBITER ADDON COMPETITION DEVELOPMENT THREAD

Ok, here's another update, I'm having problems with the ion beam scaling, the solar panels animation is kind of improved, but not fixed, the textures are still screwed up, and it's not DGIV compatible yet.

Alright, here another update, thanks to Istochinkov's help, the animation problem is fixed!

All that's left to do are:
-fix the texture problem
-fix the ion beam's animation(it won't go all the way back in when it retracts)
-and make it DGIV compatible

DEV UPDATE:
From the total parallysis to the work in 5 days :lol:

  • JEO almost ready for releasing (only lacks for a good trajectory to Jupiter at least... A VEEGA trajectory is sooooo complicated :sorry:)
  • BSS 601 in coding labor (uff!!! 10 of 14 meshes ready, only GOES N, AMSC, SATMEX 5 and OPTUS B for being modelled, but it's the easiest part :LOL!:)
  • OSC Star 2.4 revived and modelled 6 meshes (i believe :P)
If i can, maybe i'll possibly add other project(s) 'cos i'm almost free from the University :speakcool: (i think i should design add-ons every day :P)

Talon1, i'll check yor mesh forr looking about your material trouble :P

Okay, here's another dev update: again, thanks to Istochnikov, the texture problem is now fixed, or close enough, I guess. The reason for this is...

...the support struts for the solar panels are supposed to be like the ones on this photo...

... but this is how it looks now; as you can probably see, the support struts for the solar panels are the same colour as the solar panels, and I don't think we could fix that with out starting off with a new mesh.:(....

.....But anyway, the main reason I entered this competition is to have some fun!:lol: So it's not such a big deal if it's not completely perfect. And also, I'm not saying that people who want to help me should just forget about the texture problem.

And now, all that's left to do are:
-make it DGIV compatible
-(optional) completely make the texture perfect
Note: there was the problem with the ion beam's animation, but it sort of fixed itself.

And here's some other things going on in my life:
-It's my birthday tommorow, YAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo:

Update: I've made a development thread for my orbital cannons so if anyone is helping me, please go there. It's called "Talon1's Orbital Cannons (Help wanted)"

So Anim8or is not the best for texturing... there was a small program maybe useful for that: UV mapper classic. Note: I've never used it, so I don't know if it works has spected.

For this reason i switched to 3DS Max...

I'll release all the Add-ons the final due date, this, for improving them once finished :tounge: Though i've entered this competition for fun, i'm very perfectionist :LOL!: :P
