Orbiter 2024 Release

Not to brag or anything but I tested my bases and my space station, and what a relief to see they are working fine in 2024! That means a small variety of destinations from the get go. That, and I don't need to update it for this new version 😂
I see that Orbiter 2024 is also now available as a version option for add-ons in OH. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea for developers to check their add-ons against 2024 and update the stated compatability accordingly.

Huge thanks to the Orbiter team for building out the Lua scripting capabilities, and for being patient with my whining for more Lua methods! A lot of work was done by many folks to make this happen, and I'm very grateful and happy that Orbiter isn't stagnating.

Onward and upward!

So I noticed a problem not sure if I have to change something on my end but I Installed the following addons

Wideawake International = https://www.orbiter-forum.com/resources/wideawake-international.3734/

X-R2 RavenStar = Site =https://www.alteaaerospace.com/index-3.html
Download = https://www.alteaaerospace.com/ccount/click.php?id=3

Senario = Wideawake/Wingedlaunch/XR2 Launch

Issue - XR2 is landed on the runway at the wrong orientation.

Also last image XR2 on final for KSC when I come to a final stop the XR2 leans over on the runway -
Please help :) :hailprobe:

Yep. API version is 241231, as you would expect.

We'll have to wait for developers to update their add-ons to the new version of Orbiter.

thanks Xyon, thanks guys! what a lovely surprise 🥰

guess the latest Flight Simulator will have to wait it's turn now 🤗

NASSP compatibility with Orbiter 2024 is in-progress; I've been keeping a side branch compatible with the in-development version of Orbiter for about a year and a half now and so far it's proven quite stable. We're still discussing amongst ourselves about how we want to approach this, but so far we think we probably want to finish merging most of our big pull requests and release one final version for Orbiter Beta R90, and then start releasing builds for Orbiter 2024.

I would have loved to see a list of this release's developers & contributors ... just to get inspired and be more grateful! :salute:
Thank you so much to all OpenOrbiter 2024's developers!!

Our turn: let's now check the compatibility of our addons. Happy New Year 2025.

To an extent, you can; the release notes on the github release page list all the contributions made to the repository since it was made open source. This is not, however, the exhaustive list of the changes between 2016-P1 and 2024, since quite a bit of closed development had happened in the old SVN repository before it was made open source.

The VesselBuilder source code is available here: https://github.com/fredenigma/VesselBuilder1 and the Multistage2015 source code is included in the package for anyone wanting to update these two.

I don't know how to do it... 😟 not yet...

Could someone make a version of Multistage compatible with Orbiter 2024 ?
(multistage2024)
that would be awesome :hailprobe:

Fred18's other modules seem to work well (vesselbuilder, general_vehicle)

Merci aux créateurs de cette nouvelle version d'Orbiter2024 ! :saluer::saluer::saluer::saluer:
Encore de longues soirées en balade aux milieux des planètes à prévoir🚀☄️👾🛰️🌌
Thanks to the creators of this new version of Orbiter2024!
More long evenings walking among the planets to plan
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

If the source code is available (as is the case with VesselBuilder) it can be upgraded to Orbiter 2024. I am already working on VesselBuilder for Linux and it is a great opportunity to learn programming best practices.
:cheers: :hailprobe: :probe:

I just found the source code for Multistage so if the license allows it I can adapt it to Orbiter 2024.

Great that the release still came in 2024, this means I can change my research proposal to the current stable version. That feels much better. :)
