Orbiter 2016 in nag mode with d3d9 client

Whenever I try and run the orbiter ng (blue desktop icon) I get a black window that runs a series of programs that end up in a prompt. I have loaded orbiter 2016 and the d3d9 client but nothing else. Regular orbiter (red desktop icon) runs fine. I have the same result on my PC and my Laptop. Have tried several clean installations with no luck. Any ideas?

Did you enable the D3D9Client in the Modules tab? Also, did you install the required June 2010 DirectX runtimes?
