Is there a way (a "cheat" maybe) to do nothing but move your orbit back into early sunlight? I know it's not "real" but neither are a few things (appropriately explained and scientifically compromised) here.

The other "airplane" sims out there let you choose time and season, and while that's not the request, it would be nice to keep daylight as long as possible, both for "learning" and for wanting to have the the "action" (re-entry, docking, explosions, etc.) happen when illuminated.

Well? is there a way? Maybe just a "second sun" for the cheat, or maybe a "turn off darkness" mode?

Thanks!

Put ambient light level to 255 in the visual effects tab.

Oh gracious, not that high.

Setting the ambient light level to 50 or so should leave you in near-daylight at all times.

Good call .

Ok, here the official solutions without resorting to unrealistic cheating:

Orbiter 2006: Launch into a sun synchronous orbit in the local morning or local evening. Or enable the navigation lights.

Orbiter 2010: Switch on the flood lights.
