Several things spring to mind:
1)Check your settings:
Server = omp.dyndns-server.com
Server Port = 1515
2)ensure port is open/forwarded through routers and firewalls.
3)Recently the server and client program were rolled back to 0.3.4 from 0.3.5, due to stability issues. Link to current version and further information avalible @ http://omp.dyndns-server.com/

Addendum:- Checking the status page it would seem the Web server and TS3 server are running, but the OMP server is not.

I have V3.4.0 alpha
Server address reads correct aswell as port.
All Firewalls are off.

When i connect however the Logging reads...

Error recieving from (OMP Server adress)

Maybe it is down then

New to OMP...

Hi everyone. First, a big thank you to everyone involved in the OMP project! I manged to get connected today and it seems to work, but no one was online. Is there a general time frame when others are on or is it entirely random? I understand that this is a huge undertaking and that the devs are probably investing more time in building than playing, so I don't expect a lot of activity at this point. Still, ORRL looks very interesting...

Am I correct in guessing that chat uses the text line in the dialog box? It appears so in the manual.

Thanks again and keep up the good work!

Its entirely random.
According to the OMP server log we have 23 different user making over 250 connecting last 12 days. Most pilots join from 22:00 - 02:00 and from 06:00 - 12:00 CET (GMT+2). And weekends are better if you like to see others online.

See http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=23643 for OMP host info

20:00-00:00 and 04:00-10:00 GMT for the lazy. More activity at weekends makes sense.

Greetings Face and all Orbinauts.
After the router nightmare,i managed to get my cables and plug it to my pc,it worked very well ,but at about 1500s of gameplay (less than 30 minutes),i got auto-disconnected and all my reconnect tries failed.
Is it a issue with server side or client side? Also if it's in client side, what i should do to fix it?

Good question. The disconnect could originate about everywhere (server, server-OS, server-router, ISP-switches/router, client-router, client-OS, client), but the failing reconnect hints on server-side. In addition, the website on Ren's hosting is not loading for me anymore.

If you like, I could fire up my private hosting for a duration test.

Yeah, now i figured it's server side. The website and server are both not working. But i will post a log, so i can specify the error.
Log started.

Problem is solved! According to GuiConteDGIV2X it was his dynamic IP. It just changed in gameplay.

I was flying in OMP with GuiConteDGIV2X on Sunday. No problems at all.
We even made a attempt for a reentry side by side.

OMP is not compatible with the new orbiter beta. Just so you guys know. If you enable module in orbiter it crashes orbiter launchpad instantly. Vanilla orbiter install running under windows 7

Hello.

Maybe someone remember me from this post http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?p=236573&postcount=17
I'm still trying to run a Lan server.
My friend and me are in the same subnet, we are both sync to the server.. MDJ is 0... time acceleration isn't stuck in 0.1... ip address in the "server.xml" is my local IP address... animation in the status-tab showing little signal icons "flying" towards the shuttle from the planet's side (left) are working normal... \ls shows us without "no UDP!" marks...

and we can't watch between us.. now he can't see me and I can't see him

Thanks

In the network Tab in OMP client (not router) set one client for 2502 (default) and the other client/computer for say.... 2503. Try that with firewall off on both computers. If it works then you can go back and mess with firewall if you are worried about security (your choice). Now just so you know give both clients time to "tick" down and sync untill both clients are around -6 in the grey MJD box. At this point time warp in orbiter should return to normal and not 0.1 and you should be able to see each other. Make sure both computer clients are set for port 1515 (same line as server address)

As soon as both of you are listed without "no UDP!", you are connected to the server. There is still the chance that you do not find each other because of both using the "Server-LAN" option - could be a bug. If you are on the same subnet, do NOT use "Server-LAN", either use "Standard" or "Custom".

In addition, check that both of you have the same distribution of OMP installed properly. Be aware that ORL overwrites the earth rotation! If one has the default one and one has the ORL one, it could easily be that you see each other just zipping by.

The best way to check if you can see each other is the F3 dialog, BTW. As soon as both of you reach 0 on MJD and normal time-acc, check if both of your vessels are listed on F3. If so, you could see each other, but are just in different locations. In the later case, just switch the focus to go see where the other one is ATM.

Face

Very noobish noob here when it comes to networking... (i.e. advance apology...)

Could OMP be used with a pair of ad hoc linked laptops? If so... errr... how? I've just found out what the ad-hoc thing sort of does, and it sounded sort of cool.

Yes. Just start the server on one of the machines and use "Standard" method on both computers. Of course you have to enter the proper IP of the server-machine.

Be also sure that both machines are close to UTC clock-setting, because clock synchronization is important.

Face

Where? Doing what? In windows, Orbiter, OMP? Details matter for these sorts of things just saying 'i get a syntax error' won't get the problem fixed it just causes more confusion as people try to work out if you are talking about OMP or your keyboard.

I use an Airport Express (not extreme), and there's no UDP option.

Chances are it forwards both TCP and UDP over port 2502 to the specified IP address.

Does the router firewall and PC firewall allow 2502 inbound?
