OFSS Project Discussions

that looks like a problem i had awhile back, its to do with shuttle fleet. but i cant remember how i fixed it.

I had some problems with CTD's when I first installed shuttle fleet. Same kind of thing, it said I was missing textures...
One of the guys said the fix for it was to activate all the modules in the modules tab. I did that and it's worked ever since.
I do have a dedicated OFSS Orbiter install, so it's not like there are multitudes of them...

Tex, I can take Mission 26 as well. Provided its not too difficult. I'm still a little new with the shuttle, although I should be able to make the flight. You might want to take another pilot as standby.

I can be standby for Mission 31 right now, should Mission 26 fall through for me.

Okay, was wondering if this is specific to me, or if this is a problem others have seen:
Pulled the OFSS mission package, installed with replacing all files in the package, and then launch OFSS Mission 21. Every time I jump to the HUD display for RMS-1, I get a CTD. Problem recurs even after reboots. I get the following errors in the Orbiter.log:
>>> ERROR: Missing texture: extremite1.dds
>>> [C:\Source\Orbiter\Texture.cpp / 781]
>>> ERROR: Missing texture: cover.dds
>>> [C:\Source\Orbiter\Texture.cpp / 781]
**** WARNING: Mesh not found: .\Meshes\.msh
**** WARNING: Mesh not found: .\Meshes\.msh
**** WARNING: Mesh not found: .\Meshes\.msh
What am I screwing up?

I haven't had this problem. I would suggest trying the fix posted below to activate all modules. Also, make sure you're using an Orbiter installation dedicated to only OFSS.

Mission 26 shouldn't be too difficult, but I will need you to say for sure which one you want so I can give the last mission to someone else. :thumbup:

Are you planning on adding missions after Mission 38?

Right now none planned. If someone else wishes to pick up the project I'd be OK with that. Ultimately I considered doing a moon station and or moon base construction project with some missions coming from OFSS, but I may not have the time to commit to that project right after this one ends.

Using a stand-alone Orbiter for OFSS, been adding the add-ons since Mission 9, I believe. All modules activated, still getting the CTD. Since it's just when I am in the "cockpit" of RMS-1, I can just work around it by using external views only. Still a bit of a pain, but not critical. I guess if it gets too annoying, I can just blow away the folder and start from scratch *shrug*. Thank you to all for suggestions.

Just give me Mission 26 then. It'll be nice to use the shuttle for something.:cheers:

I see the scenario for M24 and I'll try to get it finished tomorrow at some point around studying for finals and working on my senior design proposal. :P

This is the latest package for Orbiter Forum Space Station. Please see the documentation for new required addons and mission objectives.

Mission 24 includes XR5 + Neesys

That's coming along nicely. :thumbup:

I think I could also take Mission 31. I like DGIVs :)

Wow - the station is looking great! I flew a Progress flight to the station, and it has changed a lot.

Well done everyone!

I just completed the construction phase of Mission 24. I think we may have gotten to the end of the reach of RMS-1. Relocation of the PMA was interesting. On one side I was really close to the core's antenna, so I tried the other side, if the RMS "elbow" wasn't where it was I'd have take out one of the hab modules.
Really tricky, but it got done.

You know you can increase the size of the RMS with the scenario editor right? Nonetheless I will increase the size for the next mission or I might just move it to the Neesys module. ;)

Oh yes. I've got a ShuttleA repainted in my daughters high schools colors that I've mounted a URMS on that I use to run Europa, Ganymede, Callisto supply missions. I was just making an observation.

I seem to remember that in a screenshot of the completed project that you'd mentioned moving the URMS anyway. I'd wanted to comment about the need to make it bigger, but then had a "that's what she said" revelation, so I decided to avoid it...

The comment that is...

It's may be more practical to relocate the arm. Unless there is more to do down on that end of the station. Either way, it's all good.

Hello! I've been flying orbiter for a fair bit, and just started here on the forums. Came across this last week and it absolutely piqued my interest.

Is there any chance I could fly a mission for the station?

Mission 37 wasn't taken when I just checked.

Like I say, I'd love to fly one. I've been flying a few completed missions for fun, good fun. Flying for a purpose you know? That's awesome to me.

Guys the next mission is scheduled for today, but I am delaying it to this coming Monday or Tuesday as I simply do not have the time to prepare it atm. There are no other missions scheduled for next week, so cr1 who is slated to fly the upcoming mission will have all next week to complete it and post the finished scenario.

After Thanksgiving week the schedule is slated to pick back up with mission 26 on December 1.

As for those requesting missions I will have to look at the schedule to confirm the openings. 'Toodrunk' get's first pick since he has not yet flown a mission.

Thanks for the news - I was getting quite worried not seeing "OFSS Mission Pack 25" under "New Releases from Orbit Hangar" every time I log in today...
No problem for the delay, I have loads of time next Wednesday :)
