Hello there, fellow orbinauts. I'm curious about my chances of witnessing the aurora borealis from a plane flying over east-central europe. I'm scheduled to fly Paris Beauvais - Targu Mures, Romania on friday night with WizzAir (third flight :thumbup and spaceweather.com expects auroras pretty much around that time.
Of course, since it's not a northern flight, I'm not expecting much, but I'm hoping the high altitude and rarefied air will provide a distant view of the show.
Any accounts of the aurora being visible from flights at more moderate latitudes?
I'd google it extensively, but the internet connection is so crappy I barely managed to get on Orbiter forum after countless attempts
