I can't get any noticeable Doppler effects from ground cameras [or anything else]. Can't find any info anywhere. Am I missing something [Literally]?
Appreciate any help/references.

I think there is also no hardware acceleration yet for calculating doppler effects for games, but I hope there is.

I'm assuming that you mean in terms of the sound of the craft being higher pitch as it approaches you, rather than turning a blue-ish tinge.

Kind of reminds me of a sign I heard about in the physics department of some university somewhere. Printed in red on the door of a Professor's office was "If this sign is blue, you are travelling too fast"

How about inventing an Orbiter doppler effect T-Shirt?

My "No Doppler"

Reason I ask this is because of what Daniel Polli (aka DanSteph) states in his Sound folder html help document :

Feature added in 3.0:

-Mp3 playing capacity, you can use winamp playlist or drop mp3 into sound/mp3 folder.
-Doppler, sonic bang, distance and pressure fading.
-Cockpit/external sound difference.
-The vesselSDK was greatly enhanced see ShuttlePb example in the sound folder.
-Others ?... dont recall them all :)

Sorry for delay in chat,

OrbiterSound DOES model doppler effect.
It's not so easy to hear because the noise from most rockets is mostly low-frequ. rumble. The craft must be subsonic, low and fairly close because of the distance and pressure fading.

Try using XR1 with attitude and speed hold engaged. You can hear the doppler clearly.

My Doppler

Thanks C3PO,
I'll try it ASAP
Most of my craft/interests are aircraft (Kev Shannow's models) so still a bit confused why I'm not hearing it clearly at these 'low' altitudes/pressures.
Thanks for your help.

JMW
