 Hello all .... Been playing Orbiter for about 5 ish yrs since I first came across it.. have to admit I always had trouble understanding how it all worked. But last night I gave it another try and I finally had my "moment of Clarity" and I finally understood all phases of the flight.. and to top things off, I finally docked for the first time to the ISS! lol I was like a kid at Christmas.. To celebrate, I threw on 2010 on the big 55" screen and cranked it up!! Had a blast.. Looking forward to many more flights and addons..

Congrats! And :welcome: to Orbiter-Forum!

I'm not a great pilot, so I understand the feeling of joy on the first successful docking.
For me, it was a direct ascent with Gemini to MOL :-)
I'd recommend you try Apollo to Skylab and 2001 spaceplane to Spacestation V. Docking with a spinning station sure is fun!

Yes it was Ripley, especially after 5 yrs.. lol
Zachstar, I will check out that tutorial to see if it can work for me..
And 4throck, I am looking forward to giving that Spacestation V dock a shot.. Its going to be fun... and to everyone else, thanks.. should be able to post some more ( in-between burns..lol)

Congratulations on your first docking! This is a major milestone in your Orbiter experience.

Only done it so far with auto pilots but it still felt good. Enjoy friend, Enjoy

thanks all.. I tried it again tonight and it went much more smoothly almost without effort. Being a real life pilot, I told myself that I would not use auto pilot. Takes away from the 'hands on ' feel to it... :probe:

Well done.

learning curve is so steep i keep sliding off. :n00b::rofl:
