Hi,

I'm new to Orbiter, and flight simulators in general. I was just wondering where you guys think would be best for me to start? A lot of the information out there relating to Orbiter is just so far over my head at present.

I'm struggling to control a Delta Glider! I've been having trouble with the landing. I either overshoot the runway due to excessive speed, or undershoot because my velocity is too low. Also, I'm not sure about AOA and the like! Can you use the MFD's to guide you in and you follow a predicted path?!

Hi Flux! :welcome: to the forum!

Go Play in Space is a very good tutorial aimed at beginners to Orbiter asking the same questions you are.

Also, a primer on general flight-simming would be helpful here. Does anyone else have a good one?

For your specific question - yes, you can. That's what flight instruments (in this case MFDs) are there for! Orbiter's manual is the best place to look for information about your default instruments.

:welcome: to the Forum! Don't also forget the video tutorials available here on OF

:welcome: to the forum! A good background in flight never hurts either! Hit the books, so to say, and with some practice, you'll be flying high soon enough!
I hope you enjoy Orbiter and the community around it as much as I have!

Thanks for all your replies. I will be sure to check out some tutorials and do some research on aeronautics.

I've since managed, using the DGIV, to get into earth orbit with an eccentricity of 0.0009! I guess I just need to familiarize myself with the gauges and MFD's so I can use them effectively.
