Project New Shuttle

ok, ive redone the wings, putting elevons on should be easier now, and ive had some thoughts about the landing gear:
if they extend by rotating backwards, not it reduces the need for really bulky hydraulics (and perhaps a backup electric motor could be used) because they dont have to overcome the drag of the gear (it actually helps) and you can land without them being locked down because they can be locked by a bar located at the back of each door (in the case of APU failure, you would still like to land, wouldnt you?)

and also ive put in a windshield! not bad for sketchup work eh?

finally, does this look worthy for re-entry? its slightly curved, but it bay be a little too flat, paticularly on the wings... hell, ill leave it anyway, its only a simulation anyway

thanks guys

''European Orbital Vehicle 101 - Thrusthammer Rocket B****rd''!

In all seriousness, I'm not a fan of the continuous strip of glass around the cockpit, I can't really see such a front window being that realistic, glass can be very heavy, and individual windows around the flight deck will probably have greater structural integrity. Plus it detracts from the realistic look of the Orbiter.

The rest is looking fantastic though, can't wait to fly it :)

its not going to stay that way, i need to add some structure to it, im only about 60% finished with meshing at the moment

Fantastic :)

I'm just an impatient spaceplane fan, thats all.

thanks ;) i hope i dont dissapoint

well, i think its time to restart it again, it gets better every time i do this, so why not?

actually, ive made a mess of the wings again, and the rudder... and the gear... oops

a fresh start and a new approach may be what im after

If the Barcelona management goes on like that, it is the FC SEAT in 2 years. 58% of the clubs finances are debts, hardly heroic. And Real Madrid is also the more successful team in the Champions League.

Barça will always get more money, it appears like magic in the clouds of Catalonia and rains on them. As for Real, you're right historically, but the present day teams are clearly different - Barça is a real team built up over the years from their own youth players and strategic buys of long-term stars, Real a group of overpriced mercenaries who change from one season to the next.

Sorry for the off-topic, but I couldn't let Barça get dissed by Madridistas without jumping to their defence. Not that they need my help, they're gonna win the Champions-Spanish League double under Pep again this year.

Visca Barça!

yeah...that is why we are speaking about the PIIGS in other threads. ;)

(Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece and Spain - all countries with very questionable financial habits)

In case you never noticed, my colors are green-white. And I don't mean the green and white army in that case, but rather: [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VfL_Wolfsburg]VfL Wolfsburg[/ame]

can we keep it on topic? there is little relevance of sport to this :P

Come on, for becoming astronaut, you need to do a lot of sports...see...no? Aw :(

Also, when you look at your model front view, 0° to -40° (as if you were the airflow during reentry), think that all what you see will need protective tiles.

and the rudder's leading edge for good measure

also, im considering adding winglets, but im not sure if its possible to put it into a spacecraft3 vessel if theres already a stabiliser added (the rudder), i asked in another thread but its not turned up any replies...
