Well, seems we have a bunch of composers here, so I'm pretty much creating this thread for all of you to put your music here
Don't be afraid to post, no matter what style you do, because with such a diverse population of Orbinauts, there has to be someone who can truly appreciate your work!

So, I'll start with a few of my own:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/48481896/Midi/Wav/Neptune.wav - A slow, lonely, piano piece
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/48481896/Midi/Wav/Dash.wav - More piano, but much more upbeat
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/48481896/Midi/Wav/BudgetCuts.WAV - 8-bit-ish arrangement of a very old song
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/48481896/Midi/Wav/Acenscion.wav - Rock thing with strong rhythm. Probably the only one I can play (except for the drums )
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/48481896/Midi/Wav/UI Jingle_Master.wav - The jingle of my fictional mega-corporation Unknown Industries

EDIT: Seems some of these link don't work. Well, here is my soundcloud, with a lot of stuff: http://soundcloud.com/iamwearingpants

I reuploaded some of my 2009 work with my former band "Insanity". I composed both guitar lines, bass line and lyrics. And in recordings I'm playing rythm guitar.

Lyrics are in Polish.

01 - I Belive You
02 - Come with me
03 - Voice

First one is about girl who is lying all the time. I know that she is a liar but I still try to belive her.

Second one is about man, who stuck with his problems and can't go on with life.
Everything for him is pointless and sad.
In chorus there is a line: "Stand up and come with me" said by his friend who want to help him.

Third one is about difference between day and night life, and strange feelings that night brings to me.

Recordings, editing and mixdowns in CoolEdit Pro 2.1 with Creative Audigy2 sound interface.

Thanks for sharing!

iamwearingpants - nice stuff man. I particularly liked 'impending' for it's imagination!

I like Kerbal Cruising too! Nice melody and I like how the chords at the beginning continue throughout.

And I liked Neptune too, quite dark! Interesting structure with all the dramatic pauses on the low notes.

Do you study? Or are you wanting to study music/composition?

Loru - enjoyed all three, although Voice is my favourite. Was interesting for me to hear that style of music sung in Polish too...:D You still in bands?

I always thought that the Night was like a different country...

Cheers again!

As I'm not in the band right now I'm trying to keep up in shape. I've got some loose ideas for one or 2 next songs but I'm not promissing any release date.

Haven't taken a lesson/studied in the 3 years I've been doing music. I really want to develop my own style and not learn off of others. Of course I have various artists/composers I look up to (Pink Floyd, Tchaikovsky, Debussy) like any other guy though.

Anyways, I have two more things I wrote in the last few days:

Fantastic Fury - Kinda dedicated to this guy from school who is quite a character.
Saturday - Finished this about 10 mins ago, turned out very nice. My first attempt at a 'saloon-y' type of thing. Also added reverb for giving is 'hell of a lot more depth'

P.S. Nova, your songs are great. If you think they're so horrible, use those feelings as an incentive to improve them. Know that from experience ;)

Pants, what do you use for composition? :)

FL Studio. I actually enter all my notes in and tweak play after play. Saturday was played at least 20 times before I got it finished and right.

EDIT: Use VST plugins from DSK Music for the orchestra and a soundfont I can't remember for the piano. Hope this helps!

Ah, kl.

Nice new stuff! Like Fury!

Do you know Steve Reich's 'Octet'? or Gyorgy Ligeti's 'Etudes'?

(Octet)

(etude 13, the spoken bit isn't part of the piece...:p)

Best,

Dores :D
