Hmmm... Do you plan to bring a Kirovets K700 A in game ?
I wonder if you can do that in VB (vessel Builder) I guess in a DLL Not sure if there is a way to do that. Unless you add forces?Yes, the engine must be placed at top, where the rotor is, and the COG must be set accordingly.
That should give you very rought approximation of how it moves.

You can. If messing with the COG and engine position is a problem, just move the mesh.I wonder if you can do that in VB (vessel Builder) I guess in a DLL Not sure if there is a way to do that. Unless you add forces?
Of course, hover engine is a rough approximation of helicopter flight. That brings you to the pendulum rocket fallacy.
This explains a lot better, what is really needed to stabilize a helicopter: https://www.intechopen.com/books/fl...es-and-technologies/helicopter-flight-physics
Of course, hover engine is a rough approximation of helicopter flight.
But in the context (recovery operations) something simple that works with the default autopilots (ex: keep altitude) is enough I think.
