thanks but the functionality of the station is not a priority at this stage I need to finish the meshes

Looks really good. With VB you can add multiple cockpit cameras, that would be great.
Don't' forget to put a separate mesh group (a simple square) over those CRTs, so that you can display a MFD there in the future.

Can't you just take Mir's base block (DOS-7) and do some changes ?
All DOS based station modules are similar (including the ISS's Zvezda DOS-8)
