Discussion Mesh making with Blender

This is what I get. looks like the bottom dish is missing. And like the Daedalus the left engine is backwards mirrored?

I've fixed the inversions of normals and other small things, for now.

That looked good. How large is it?
Are there textures?

here is the Daedalus blend. I think it is about 15 times too large

@Fast_toche For the next vessel you do, it would probably be a good idea to convert the 3D model to .obj format before turning it into a mesh, if it's possible to do so. At least, I think it would be a good idea.

Also, you need to make sure the textures are optimized for non-D3D9 users.

Seems to missing parts?
Windows, text,.....
size is supposed to be 143 meters

@Trekkie If you are reading this, do you think you could contribute to this conversation in some way?

If possible, could you maybe provide us with some download links for the spacecraft meshes you've already done?

While you're at it, here are some more Federation structures courtesy of gattispilot, along with the meshes and .ini files for the Bajoran freighter, Bajoran raider, D'Kyr-class Vulcan cruiser, and Starbase 12-type station, originally by Wholock (in the case of the first three) and Jestr.

The ships are beautiful.

Yes, I will provide the models in Wavefront .obj format.
When you do so, you need to retain the original materials rather than just applying a texture over the entire vessel, because otherwise the completed model will bear very little resemblance to the original. What I'm trying to say is that I want the completed models to be as accurate to the originals as Orbiter will allow.

Okay, I prefer to be pragmatic.
The textures of the USS Thunderchild that I need are hard to find in good quality, or even usable screenshots for texture painting.

I always try to copy exactly what the creator did, but in this case, it's not working. Too simplistic.

So now I'm the one who needs help finding usable sources.
