This addon creates NGC346  background textures for Orbiter.
Textures are from the Celestia Motherlode Site, Cham.
Conversion into .text format, utilizing pltext in Orbiter Utility.
You may want to increase background intensity to 0.40 for better visualization.
ADD LINE; NGC346|csphere\ngc346 to config/CSphere/bkgimage

This project has been a collaberation of stevcast and his son.

Do you think you could just include the line to add to bkgimage.cfg in the readme file? As it is, the bkgimage.cfg file in the archive overwrites the user's bkgimage.cfg.

Aldrasio, simply open bkgimage cfg. file with notepad, and add the line from my download into your bkgimage cfg. file. In other words, if you had five entries in your original bkgimage cfg. file, you will now have six.
I hope this helps.

Thanks, but that's not the problem. The problem is that, when extracted, it asks to overwrite a file that doesn't need to be overwritten. I was saying that, rather than include a bkgimage.cfg file in the archive, just include the text we need to add to our bkgimage.cfg file in the readme.

I agree. 'Cause you know, no matter how clear you make it, someone's always going to ignore directions and overwrite their files, and afterward wonder what he did wrong.

#1 rule of technical writing is to assume the reader is a complete idiot.

I'm failing to see what exactly these new backgrounds are for. Do they make you look like you're in another galaxy?

My son and I made these for the "fun" of it. I think that the best way to use these would be in conjunction with another solar system, to give an "other worldly" appearence, but you can use them just for something different in Orbiter.
