Hi Interceptor, These meshes were drawn quite while back, Orbiter 2005 I think and are alingned with the surface tiles in use then. Since then, the landscape at KSC has gone through several revesions. About a year ago I cooked up some numbers that seem to work for me in Orbiter 2010 P1. You will need to create a subfolder in your config/earth folder named K_40-41 and create a new text file and rename it Canaveral.cfg, then paste the following text into it:

BASE-V2.0
Name = Cape Canaveral
Location = -80.672 +28.528
Size = 1000
MapObjectsToSphere = TRUE

BEGIN_NAVBEACON
VOR KSCX -80.53835 28.43352 112.70 500
END_NAVBEACON

BEGIN_OBJECTLIST
;Begin LC 40_41

Then you will need to open your sol.cfg file and change the line
planet3=earth to planet3=earth_K40-41 and save it as sol_K40-41.cfg
Finly you will need to open your earth.cfg file and change the line under surface bases from dir=earth/base to dir=earth/K_40-41

There are no Lpads so you will need coordinates for anything you wish to launch from there. They are,

LC40:

POS -80.5772630 28.5619170
HEADING 278.00

Pad Lights are:

POS -80.5772700 28.5619200
HEADING 358.00

LC41:

POS -80.5828850 28.5833690
HEADING 278.00

Pad Lights are:

POS -80.5828700 28.5834130
HEADING 358.00

If they are CVEL Titans the PADBIAS is -3.0
Hope it works for you. Cheers.

Please read only the text below the edit, There are typing mistakes in the first part that will most certainly cause a CTD.

it is trying to access a different Sol system. Do you have that folder in your Orbiter\Config?

K40-41 files

I am sorry I don't explain things very well. I have made a small zip file that will place the files you need in their proper places. Just unzip in your main orbiter folder. I included a few scenarios as templates to give you the location, heading and for CVEL Titans, the padbias. also the location and heading for the launch pad lights. There is a third scenario I put together that require a few add-on's. A text file with the OH links and the information about the authors of these add-on's is included. Hope it works.

I'm thinking this should be a orbiter distribution file. Not sure why you would be missing it, but here it is. Did you install CVEL Titans. It might have come with that. That Cassini scenario will not run without all of the addons listed if that is the one that was giving you trouble. in any case the zip file i made should be the last thing you install.

Hey,sorry to bother you again,but I did notice something weird with your install, that I didn't see with my older install, the textures on the pad flicker,but this does not happen in my install,any solutions would be great,since I like your config so much better.Thanks

OK,found out was causing the flickering of the textures,it was launch pad lights,but if you use the spotligts2 by Brianj it works like a charm.:cheers:

Hi again. You have to remember that this addon, K- LC-40-41, was written 7 years ago, Orbiter has had several overhauls since then. I have always had a slight flicker with this addon especially where the signs are saying LC40 and 41, I don't know if you have noticed it yet, and maybee it is something to do with my setup but there seems to be a problem I couldn't resolve involving LC-41 only. When you zoom in close the pad structures disappear leaving only the rocket. If yo would like to launch some modern rockets from LC-41 I highly recommend BrianJ's addons MRO, SDO, and LRO/Lacross. He uses launchpads that are vessels called from the scenario file. Also his Delta II missions are very good and use a similar scheme. they launch from LC-17 and all his addons for Orbiter 2010 don,t require any adjustments. Also I think the SpaceX Dragon addon uses the LC-40/41 area. Happy Orbiting.

I just noticed the mysterious disappearing tower while fit testing my Cosmos. Thanks for the suggestion of BrianJ's Delta II.
