It was only reported days back, that one hundred thousand galaxies were discovered by the telescope, which were formed in the first billion years of the Universe, so three hundred and fifty million years of the beginning of the universe's existence.

That is pretty insane.

Our location is 26,000 light years to the centre of the galaxy we are in. So that is quite a perspective. The distance that the light has traveled of those galaxies is many millions of years into the future.

Astronomers had previously studied this planet with the Hubble Space Telescope, but their interest was magnified when the Webb telescope—which became operational last year after launching in late 2022—made some intriguing observations. Among the molecules found by Webb was dimethyl sulfide.
So what is dimethyl sulfide? It's an organic compound that you may have smelled if you've ever cooked cabbage. It is emitted by phytoplankton in the Earth's oceans as part of their metabolism process. Critically, on Earth, dimethyl sulfide is only produced by life.
