Orbiter Interface Modification and autopilots 2:
[ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3530"]Intermod_2[/ame]

InterMod 2 is an Orbiter module that extends the basic keyboard functions, provides extended set of generic autopilots and allow to overcome some of the Orbiter limits.

Current features are:
*Hover engine keys working like main engine
*Finer time acceleration controls
*Zenith and Nadir attitude hold autopilots
*Altitude hold autopilots for main, retro and hover engines
*Kill translation wrt nearest autopilot
*Near clipping plane delimitation
*Wireframe mode

Usage:
Unpack, activate the module, run.

Comparing to the recent proof of concept version, this is a full update of the older Intermod module, merged with Closeview feature of the POC.
Also, the extra EXE is no longer needed.

The thing is never complete, so feature requests are welcome.
Try to think up a thing in Orbiter controls or views that you want to have, and ask, that's all that is needed.

Could you incorporate that keyboard, to a mesh keyboard in a VC ?

I'm afraid I wasn't able to understand what you mean.
Could you elaborate?

What he said !

see I am always right (Just Joking :) )

No screenshot of wireframe mode?! Here's one:

Near clipping plane fix is perfect for exploring the interior of ships! This is a pic from a UMMU inside a DGIV:

This is my newest must-have addon for Orbiter.

Also, how did you make the EXE not needed anymore?

Hm, sounds possible, as i understand it you don't just want a 3D keyboard to run vessel's functions, but a keyboard with keys to core corresponding, something like a simreality control station on a vessel?

No screenshot of wireframe mode?!
The thing was more of an accident than a planned feature, only good for looking for deep structure of the graphics working or extroartistic movie makers, i hadn't expected it to be interesting to many people.

Also, how did you make the EXE not needed anymore?
Not everyone seems to appreciate a need to run another exe, for whatever causality i can only speculate. So, i had to find a subtler way to put a module in control of the core.

Hello. I have a problem with Intermod_2 When i activate it following message is appear: "entry point in procedure ??1Launchpaditem@@UAE@XZ not found in orbiter.exe dll library" ( my translation from russian. I have russian XP). Orbiter starts normally but Intermod does not work
It seems to be very nice addon can anybody help me with it?
Here is orbiter log just in case

THis add-on is only designed to work with the September 29 2006 build of Orbiter. Any eariler version will not work.

I have orbiter060504_base and orbiter060929patch_base. This addon must work, right?

You obviously haven't installed the patch properly.

Nope. And this is based on reading the log file attached. It clearly says that you're running the May 4 2006 build, not the September 29 2006 build.

UCGO Arrow + Intermod2 = Cool powered hover docking and cargo drops

Just searched for an add-on that would enable me to relieve some workload for a docking maneuver I'm quite found of with the new Arrow Freighter from DanSteph's UCGO package... and was very impressed with the results from Artlav's Intermod2!!!

I needed some MFD or other helping hand to do the following:

- Takeoff with a loaded ArrowFreighter on the Moon, Mars, Titan or anywhere with low surface gravity...
- Set the Freighter with the Auto Hover function to maintain a few hundreds of feet of altitude above ground with zero forward velocity
- Open the Arrow's docking bay doors
- Take a DGIV, XR2 or even a SH cargo shuttle and dock it from below in the overhead hovering Arrow

Sounds easy but the approach from below while juggling around with the hover settings, translation and rotation RCS firings thrown in the mix made for an heavy workload... So I wanted something to relieve me of vertical speed control for the Shuttle-A, which lacks this function...

The Intermod2 performs very well, apart from some issues with precise vertical speed control, which required me to alternate between the Hover vertical speed function (Ctrl+A) and the Null translation (numpad 7)... but docking was a charm. The Translation-velocity killer was really useful for the last few meters in the docking bay!

But Artlav's tool also provides an answer to an issue I've been having with dropping cargo on Venus and Earth: the understandable lack of power from the Arrow's hover engines in normal gravity flight envelops... It makes no sense to drop people and cargo at supersonic speeds, so I always try to decelerate to less than 200 m/s when dropping cargo... Unfortunately, the Arrow needs to use it's main engines to maintain altitude and the Main engine Altitude hold function from Artlav's Intermod2 really shines for me in this case, which enables me to look away and deal with the cargo drops...
