Wanted: an inflatable transit habitat for a crew of six, preferably with internal views.

Refs: NASA Mars DRA 5.0; Bigelow Aerospace web site.

Rationale: to fly a long-stay manned mission to Mars.

I think it would be nice to see what goes on inside the ship/space station module for once, apart from the XR2 and the DG I don't think any ship has an interior

You should check out some of the ships from "ragtag fleet"

I was a bit shocked that 'transhab' turned up no results at Orbithangar. It's a very useful piece of hardware.

The most similar addon is Esa Inflatable, which is a simple config vessel with an interior.

I would love to have a big one that inflates...I could try making a mesh, but I have no idea how animation would work...

Well the ISRU inflates, so it shouldn't be too hard. I think.

Extra data available (as usual) at Atomic Rockets: http://www.projectrho.com/rocket/advdesign.php

By the way, there are two or three add-ons with some semblance of a transhab mesh and not much else:

Shouldn't be too hard to build. Might have to increase scale to prevent clipping. But I am busy on the Space1999 base interiors

I have a simple transhab based module that I drew up using Blender and SC3.

It still needs textures and a VC but with Artlavs new converter I could convert it to a DLL and post it

How badly do you need the interior to be modeled?

All your problems are solved. Even though it is not inflatable, it works on Orbiter 2010, includes an interior for the hab, and has a VASIMR engine to fly them around the solar system!

I think the OP is looking for something that has an inflation animation, so it can be launched stowed up.

Tacolev, in principle, you're right. Unfortunately, I haven't tried complex animations myself, so cannot ask others to do that. R8-Q88, thanks for the link, I'll install that add-on for a peek.

The reason I posted this request is simple; am collecting, bit by bit, all the ingredients for a realistic mission to Mars, preferably along the lines of NASA's roleplaying publications. Have heard about the Sims, not much positive stuff, am afraid. Am polishing the nuclear propulsion stage currently, and it may take some time, so decided to spread the idea, maybe someone's imagination is ignited by the existing and definitely realizable design...

Yeah, it isn't inflatable, but I am working on a velcro rockets mess that should be able to launch two MIPTS habs, or a hab and a VASIMR. I like the idea of a "realistic" mars mission, there aren't many out there.

That would be a geat addons! Support for oxygen management, UCGO and Ummu would be fantastic!

This is my module that I mentioned earlier. I slapped some textures on it, and ran it through Artlav's converter.

Here it is stowed in the Atlantis' Cargo Bay...

...and attached to the ISS post-inflation.

Edit: The converter seems to have made a mess of the RMS grapple points but I will post it to the hangar as soon as I sort them out.
