I've been having lots of fun with IMFD, thanks to the ton of tutorials out there. But I have one problem. IMFD works fine between a planet and its moons, so I can go to the Moon and then back to Earth or I can hop around Jupiter and its moons. But if I try to go anywhere other than the planet I'm currently orbiting or its moons IMFD just gives me a click when I press the Auto Burn button, it doesn't set the attitude or anything. :( Any help would be appreciated.

Which version of IMFD are you using, what version of Orbiter and what ship?

I had a similar problem using an older version of IMFD under Orbiter '10. I'm currently using IMFD version 4.2.2 with Orbiter '10 with great success. I haven't upgraded to the 5.5 release yet (still learning).

Are you attempting to use Target Intercept's AutoBurn to execute the transfer burn? This would be incorrect. TI's AB will only work when Source is set to self, and when planning an interplanetary flight the source will be set to the planet you are leaving.

Orbit Eject, set to "Plan" (change "Higher Orbit" to "Plan") is used to execute the transfer burn. Once you leave the source planet's SOI, change the Source (in Target Intercept) to self. This can be done by pressing the SRC button, and typing a lower case x into the pop-up window (then press enter key, of course). After that, Target Intercept's AB can be used for MCC's (ensure that "realtime" guidance is selected, not "off-plane" or "prograde").

Thats what I'm doing wrong I'm trying to use Target Intercept  thanks for the help guys. Not that it matters now but I'm using IMFD 5.5 with 2010 P1.

Yes, that was the hardest part about figuring IMFD out. It's counter intuitive at first, but the idea of levels helped me out. Now it's second nature to me!
