Taking control of the S3 MicroBooster. Orbit looks good, time to fire the main engine.
And we're off!
Hmm...the orbit looks right but wasn't where we wanted...time to talk to those math guys again! We'll bump the period up a bit to move the orbit where we want it, over Europe and western Russia.
Booster sperated. At apogee we'll do a short burn to dump the booster in the ocean south of South Africa. hey wait, we need that booster to change our orbit once we fix it....uhoh, too late!
Well we might as well deploy the microsat and check the systems, perhaps we can do something with the orbit we are in. It is really time to talk to the team...there are going to be some unhappy people tonight! At least we did get a good deployment, Panels are opened and the sunshade extended.
In the end we'll call it "not a complete failure." We did get a molniya orbit just not the one we were shooting for, at least the imagery satellite works as intended. Too bad it is always on the dark side of the planet...We should have included an IR payload:lol:
Next...bringing back the Dart.
