My hud graphics appear thicker or chunkier in 2010 than they do in 2006. 2010 looks almost cartoon-like.
Here are some screen shots...

I prefer the 2006 look. Is this a new look for 2010, or is there a way to get them to look like the 2006 hud.

The answer is as above, for the most part. However the way the HUD is presented is fundamentally different between the two versions, and it's unlikely you'll get exactly the 2006-P1 effect with 2010-P1.

Personally I prefer the 2010 HUD, but subjective is a matter of course for such things. See the patch.txt file within your Orbiter package to see what else changed between 2006-P1 and 2010.

I prefer the 2006 style hud. If it works, don't change it! I'm not concerned with any operational differences. I just like the precision of the older version. This 2010 iteration is too cartoony and happy. Happy-Hud!

Although the old version would sometime disappear with certain anti-aliasing algorithms. The 2010 does not.

One more thing to note is that the 2010 HUD's rendering performance is vastly improved on Windows 7/Vista over the old 2006 HUD. You can verify that by running a framerate test in the glass cockpit view.

One thing that has improved on my computer is that I can use antialiasing. In 2006 the HUD just disappeared when using it. The only thing that still keeps me from using AA are invisible distant planets (like Jupiter when viewed from Earth) and invisible visual helpers (I hope that's the right name for that stuff that can be displayed with F9).

I prefer the 2010 HUD because it's somehow easier to look at, at least for my eyes.
