I know this is probably a totally embarrassing question, but I'm a complete rookie and I've been beating my head against this GliderIV scenario for hours. I know it's marked as easy, so I guess I'm just doing something very basic very badly. So, how do I save the guy? I think my problem might be that I'm not choosing a good launch window. Please help.

PS There a tutorial replay, but I'll need to install Glider3 for it (I think), and I'd rather not do that.

Doing tha classical way, you start with a heading of 270° (P905S270), then adjust orbit and sync as it was a normal docking.
I did it in a bit different way: I started with a little advance on Ummu with 270° heading, then with Sync MFD I forced an intersection, once reached that intersection, I used IMFD Orbital Tools->OvM targeting Ummu. Then just RCS, open nosecone, etc.
I forgot to record playback, if you need I'll do it.

You can do the same as in the DGIII video.

orbekler: I'd really appreciate it if you could.

RisingFury: it's a playback from 2006, not a video.

It's not that I can't sync with the idiot, it's just that I can't do it fast enough.

You can still watch the replay even if you don't have the DGIII installed.
All you need to do is this:

1.Open the Save the idiot scenario in the Scenarios\Playbacks folder and scroll down to the line where the DGIII is stated.
GLRescue:DeltaGliderIII
2.Change it to GLRescue:DeltaGliderIV
3.Scroll down until you find the line where the "idiot" is:
DGIIIMmuC54081 - Joe Drank:DGIIIMmu
4.Change it to UMmu_Joe _Drank:UMmu
5.Save the scenario and exit
6.Open the Save the Idiot (easy) folder which is in the Flights folder.
7.Rename all the files named DGIIIMmuC54081 - Joe Drank to UMmu_Joe _Drank.
Remember to keep the extensions as they were.

This will enable you to watch the playback without having to install the DGIII.
There seems to be a slight problem with the retrodoors but the flight itself and inflight notes remain intact.

Thank you both! I even managed to edit the cfg file and renaming the other ones without ending humanity, this must surely be an auspicious day.

EDIT: The hud doesn't seem to work either, which makes the docking part kind of hard to understand, but I guess it still tells me something.

EDIT2: Whoo I did it! I didn't realize that you needed to do A LOT of work with the RCS, basically. I thought I could just get a favorable orbit using Orbit Sync. Thank you, everyone.

Actually you can also use Dock MFD, the limitation here is that does not give you the proper direction (vector), but still you can see relative speed and distance, very useful to get the idiot. Of course, docking hud won't show anything. If you have IMFD, you can see the direction vector from the orbital tools, with "Find" (target).
