Hey guys, i saw its the 14th anniversary of the first Shuttle-Mir docking on STS-71.
I'm just asking how far does everyone think humans have come in spaceflight since then, is it safer, more important?
Thanks.
Ryan.

safer yes but its still like running through a 0g shooting gallery and less and less important becuse public interest has been decreasing alot becuse all we have been able to do for the past 30 years is build a space station which really i think is big ol waste of money and orbit in low earth orbit

'Humans' isn't a term granular enough to describe the situation. If you pick China, for instance, they have begun flying to space in the meantime. The USA lived through the Shuttle Shock and devised a new fragile prospect of development. Russian space programmes kept slowly decaying. And not really much happened in Europe with regard to this.

Oh wait, and there was built the ISS - which about not everybody is sure, why.
