I have a laptop so i must use a joystick for orbiter but it makes it much harder b/c i have to keep moving it with the stick. and throttle sets back to wherever stick is. also i keep forgetting what the things mean on the orbit mfd and i have trouble with reentry. also are there any ships that have highly interactive cockpits like the DGIV? not like atlantis b/c u cant use most of those controls but if u could it would make it much better

Please, PLEASE use a language as it exists in official dictionaries. Next, I really don't get what your point is. I see a few questions, but I don't get the point of the earlier statements.(besides not understanding half of what you are trying to say) For a ship with an interactive cockpit, check out the DG-XR1 and other DG varients or even NASSP if you're really interested.(However, NASSP is very complex) I think the DGIV is likely best for you. Please actually look around for reentry tutorials. And if you forget what the things on Orbit MFD mean, there isn't much helping it other than the obvious 'study some more' option.
Anyways, welcome to the forum. :)

ryan: b/c is chatspeak for because. He's saying that he has problems playing with a joystick, something about the throttle resetting itself based on the joystick position (i think), and then just basic questions, and something about the Atlantis VC not being interactive I think.

Swbf2lord: First of all, welcome to the fourms. As for your questions, I've found a need for only a little of the information on the Orbit MFD. All you really need to know most of the time is PeT, ApT, Altitiude, ApA, and PeA. PeT and ApT are Time to Perapsis and Time to Apopsis respectively, and ApA and PeA are the altitude of the Perapsis and Apopsis. Altitude is self explanitory, and I've only used it when trying to dock with the ISS.

Reentry I can't help you with, as I still have problems with it myself. You mention having the DGIV (I'm assuming DanSteph's, not the Mark IV DG included in the install). The DGIV includes a tutorial on using its re-entry autopilot that should help you get into the atmosphere. Once you get past that, you just have to land.

The Stock Atlantis doesnt have much in a Virtual Cockpit, but I think the Shuttle Fleet addon has more work done on the cockpit, so that's worth a shot.

As for how you get better, I suggest the Go Play in Space PDF. It will walk you through most of the common Orbiter skills, so that could help you.

Let's be fair, his profile says he is from Albania. It's possible he is stuck using Google to translate for him:unknown:

From what I've seen and to be honest, most 'noobs' on this forum pick Albania as their country, surely because it's the first in the list alphabetically.
But should he have really been a foreigner, you would have made a good point.

btw, please contract your double-post into one. :)

First off what does B/C mean? and what you just said made no sense at all to me, welcome to the forums though.

B/c is a fairly standard abbreviation for because. It sounds like he's trying to set throttle with the keyboard and operate RCS/Airfoils with the joystick, and the joystick throttle is overriding the setting he's made with the keyboard whenever he moves the joystick. I have noticed that this can be a problem in Orbiter, but with my own flight style it tends not to be much of one.

In that case, maybe we should introduce a country 'cuz it wus 1 on teh list!

Yes that is what i meant. (Also is there anyway to set buttons on the controller to use in orbiter? I saw something in the manual about using windows utility but I don't know how to use it? Or get to it. sorry about the chat talk and im from U.S.A. i didn't see a country select anywhere. I have run the tutorials for reentry but have only successfully gotten through three times. I have the DG-XR1 thing but am not sure what the difference with it is [only used it twice though])

For laptop use I would recommend getting a USB numeric keypad. They are quite cheap and easy to carry around. You can then use orbiter with the standard key configurations
