Gaming Hielor's Minecraft Server

Ah, okay. I'm afraid I still don't fully see it, but I'll just wait until you have free time and can mock it up. :)

well I will just continue it from the inside side of the arch of upside down stairs, it's a very good place to start building a dome, and I'll use the half dome building technique so that it requires at the maximum, another 5 blocks or so of height. :)

Are you saying then that my wall needs to go up an addition 5 blocks before the start of the floor of the second level? I can do that, just need to be sure. Otherwise I was planning on having the floor/ceiling right where the current wall ends. Either way will work, of course...

Okay, so I'm planning this then:

-5 blocks up for your dome
-3 blocks for the ceiling_first_floor/floor_of_second_floor/redstone_space
-5 or 6 blocks of vertical space for the interior of the second floor
-1 block up for the ceiling of the second floor

Btw, recall I have a vertical block budget of only 54 blocks. As of now, this is broken into:

First floor: 16 (includes towers)
Second floor: 14
Third floor: ~10
Roof/telescope dome: ~10-15

So we're right at the limit here. I need to be careful I don't run out of vertical room. :)

I suggest that there is a continuation of some sort for the towers, to make it architecturally integrated, but otherwise, we can always tinker to fit things in. BTW, it now appears that we have a great game of LEGO going on here

Oh yes yes, the towers will go all the way up. I intend to make them pointy at the top and make them look like turrets over the third floor. I also want to experiment with stairs in the towers, too, but we'll see. ANyway, yes, the towers are awesome and will not go anywhere. :)

By lego, do you mean that you'll be fitting your stuff into my stuff, which I will be fitting into your original stuff?

So I jumped into Creative mode today to start thinking about what the second floor of SkyCity University would look like from the outside. I came up with the following.

The first 6 blocks up from the original picture (basically around the large center window in the middle) represents the space I'm giving Eccentrus to start his dome. The next three layers are for the ceiling below the second floor, space for redstone wiring so I can light the place up, and the actual second floor.

Eccentrus, if you have any feedback, please do let me know. I'd like to start construction tomorrow, if possible, and maybe finish up on Sunday. Shouldn't be too hard, there aren't any crazy upside-down stairs arrangements for me to deal with!

Also, thanks for Evil_Onyx for lots of sandstone and stone!

that is an incredibly beautiful design I might be able to complete the design of the dome this evening (I'm about 12 hours away from you  ) after I finish all the crazy group studies with my friends

No worries! Whenever you can get to it is when you get to it. Btw, minor update to make things less "flat."

Thank you for the kind words! :D

At this time The Biodome is not mob safe, please don't visit unless you have glass to fix the building (Creepers and glass don't mix well). Once i've finished the renovation on the out side, it will be safe once again.

rest assured for Arrowstar is one of the best interior designer I've seen in the server.

Thanks! I like doing interiors! They're fun and they don't involve hanging off cliffs, falling, and creepers everywhere.

Btw, Eccentrus, after you finish your dome, can I punch holes in it and fill them with glowstone in the shapes of constellations? :D

Awesome. How many slab stones do you need (by slab stone, you mean the white-ish half slabs, right? Not the stone brick half-slabs?)?

Can I see a picture of the dome? :)

EDIT: Oh, and do you have any sandstone? I'm just about out and while I can go get some myself, it's a lot faster if I get it delivered.
