I am in the process of reviving my mothers old computer (ancient, ran win ME and in with all the other "stuff" that was with it in the cupboard I found a box of floppy diskettes :lol

We will need to buy a new screen, but in the meantime I am using the current screen, which means I'll be off for a while.

I'm off now, gone to be an honourary computer geek... :study:

What a disapointment.

Anyone know how to reformat the main HDD? I want to get rid of the old OS.

Plus, I had fun with the Floppy disks. I dissected one, and I now know why they are called "floppy" I wiped one with a magnet, but the data
was still there! I also punched a hole through one, and discovered the meaning of the click of death :suicide:

I was thinking of the same screen my current computer has. Only 1400 Rands (South African currency, last time I checked was about R10 to the Euro).

If you just need ANY screen, for example for such workshop tasks, you should contact goverment agencies and other offices... They often throw good but old monitors on the trash, or sell them on rather hidden auctions. You can easily get a good 21" monitor for a bargain, though with the risk of small damages.
