it looks good, the only problem is that it is very small compared to what i designed it for

oh, i must have messed up something working with your other mesh because the boosters have the brown for the exhaust at the front and not the back, like its been put on backwards, but in anim8or it's put on straight.

i've nearly got the mesh scaled correctly, but i've found that my original plan to have the other ships dock to the supports is not practical, so i'm going to put visible docking ports on the central shaft. it'll be much easier to dock there without knocking the wings off

just got Mesh Wizard working again, i'm going to go ahead and make docking ports on the central shaft(making sure the normals are correct)

small update...

THE MESH IS FINISHED!!!!!!!!! all textures correct and proper scaling

thanks for the help guys

No problem. I feel like flyin it. I'll be the first to download and beta test it.

fine by me

but the ar81 tutorial does not mention how to make docking ports.

I'll tell you. Open up your 3D modeler program and double click at the point where you want to the port. It should tell you the coordinates. Make it to a 3ds. file and use Anim8or. Then I can help. When you do that, find the coordiantes like I said. Say they look like this. (0.332.0.000,9.090) In Orbiter they will look like this. (0.332,9.090,-0.000) Got it? If not just look at the tutorial by Ar81.

Add the lines from the txt. document to the bottom of your config. file. Since they are mesh wizard coordinates I am not sure about it so I kept it as is. If they don't work, open mesh wizard and save it as a An8. file and I am certain I can get the Anim8or coordinates to be precise.

the ports are in the wrong spot.

and how do you find coordinates in anim8or?

Do the same thing. This time I am positive on the Anim8or to Orbiter coordiantes.

i know where they should show up on the little bar at the bottom, but they are not there

never mind, figured it out, it won't show up if you have more than two objects selected

Switch to the Object/Point edit and try double clicking on the docking areas you want. Then a window will pop up with the coordinates.

hey, thats a good idea!

but i've used a different method to find them

it still docks in the wrong spot should i send the an8 file again? i got the coordinates correct but its still way off

Yeah I'll take a look at them.

I do not know where you want the docking ports though.

at the end of the small stalks inside the front of the ship, you can see them from the back looking in at an angle. there are two on each side making a total of 4. the docking ports are tiny compared to the support structures that brace the walls

Alright I'll take a look at it sometime today. Sound good?
