The name of the 'super-yacht' is Adrasta. She's a unique one as there is none built like her yet. At least that's according to the news above.

A beauty that looks like she could be on one of the James Bond films.

It really don't belong in the yacht category as it seems to be in a class on its own. Just that they don't know what category to put it in, yet. Probably need to make its own.

Those sailing yacht you're pointing to don't really do it for me on the shapes. Even if they look similar with the one I've posted. Just a different class altogether.

The one thing with sail powered boats is that the best shape for one is well known, which is why they have similar shapes. But i don't particularly like motor yachts and like sailing with the wind.

If I really have to pick a sailing yacht. I'd have to go with a trimaran design. I think I like those better. It seems more solidly built than even a twin hull.

I guess I'm just used to seeing a boat built that way. In the Philippines, we use that similar principle of little boats with twin outriggers.

While sailing boats are great where there's wind. There are spots in the world's oceans where there can be lots of calm air. In instances like those, it's better being in a motor boat than just being in waters where you'll get nowhere for days on end.

And when it comes to high speed sailing, I'll only say... Hydroptère!

sailing a 6.5 ton vessel on hydrofoils at 50 knots, barely touching the water... It takes a special kind of insanity to even think of it.
