(Sorry if this is considered bumping an old topic)
Today, I did another first. A complete XR5 mission from launch to landing
Mission plan was as following:
-Launch from SRC Space Port
-Rendezvous and dock with the UN Space Station
-Use the URMS to attach the Cassiopee lab and the Saseba module
-Do nothing for 4 days
-Deorbit and land back at SRC Space Port
I completed all of the goals here except for one problem: I did not land back directly at SRC SP. My re-entry dumped me out some ~600km east. I had to fly back, constantly watching my coolant temp. What makes me even more happy is that I flew this mission with the damage simulations on (hull overheat etc). The funniest thing happened right after touchdown: my Master Alarm went off, signaling that the coolant was too hot. 2 seconds later, I came to a stop (with some help from my retro engines) and opened my radiator.
