First Practice:

Sebastian Vettel led Charles Leclerc in a Ferrari one-two in first practice at the German Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes was third, 0.302 seconds behind Vettel, but his time was set on a harder tyre compound.
Hamilton's team-mate Valtteri Bottas was fifth fastest, behind Red Bull's Max Verstappen, and the Finn ended the session with an off at the Sachs Kurve.
Bottas lost control at the same corner at which Vettel crashed and threw away victory in his home race last year.
The Mercedes driver managed to avoid the barriers and was able to rejoin the track.

Summary

Third practice at 11:00-12:00 BST, qualifying at 14:00-15:00
Sebastian Vettel was fastest in first practice, Charles Leclerc in second practice

Lessons from Friday practice in Germany? In the super-hot conditions, Ferrari looked strong, and Mercedes had made progress with the cooling issues in the heat that hamstrung them in Austria.
But that was then. Now, it’s not like that. There were thunderstorms overnight, rain this morning and it’s at least 10C cooler, it’s cloudy and there is a chance of more rain. So it’s back to square one, effectively the start of a new weekend. As Lewis Hamilton said after getting out of the car on Friday: “I don’t feel like we learned much today."

Lewis Hamilton on German GP pole as both Ferraris break down.

Lewis Hamilton beat Max Verstappen to pole position at the German Grand Prix as the Ferraris hit technical problems.
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc looked favourite for pole but was unable to take part in the top-10 shootout.
And team-mate Sebastian Vettel will start last after a turbo problem meant he failed to set a time and will start last on the grid for Sunday's race.
Hamilton took pole by 0.346 seconds, with only 0.022secs between Verstappen, Valtteri Bottas and Pierre Gasly.

The two best drivers imho, who also happen to be the best in the wet, on the first row. And it's wet. This can be a very spectacular race.
