Don't panic, its still two months away.

UK has decided on this.
"
It's cowboy boots on the ground from the UK this year.

Remember Monday, who all met at sixth form college, are a country trio, and it seems country really is sweeping the globe.

Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter won best album at the 67th Grammy Awards.

What The Hell Just Happened - the song the group will be performing at this year's Eurovision - is a country inspired pop number which is very good fun. It's got more key changes than the total number of years that The Archers has been on air."

We sent a full country song to Eurovision in 2006 and people complained about it not being authentic German (despite the rather large German country subculture, and the song is actually still good after nearly 20 years). Here, its business as usual. Feuerschwanz got removed by the jury for metal not being attractive enough to women. (That said to a band with three women on stage for years), we selected a rather contemporary sounding pop song without soul from an Austrian band, have the annual "its breaking the rules" and "its copied from another artist" discussion.

No idea what to make from this song. It is a bit catchy, but more of the kind that you don't want to be catchy at all. Also the current stage design contains everything best buried at ESC. So, maybe the ideal song for it.

Interesting, good ESC fodder.
Don't know where the UK entrant came from. We have a folk music tradition as most European countries, but no Country heritage.
Line dancing stories pop up on regional news progs when there's not much going on.

Well not long now.

The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will take place in St. Jakobshalle, Basel, on Saturday 17 May with Semi-Finals on Tuesday 13 and Thursday 15 May, after it was selected by Host Broadcaster SRG SSR and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to host the 69th edition of the Contest.

Never been to Basel, looks rather lovely.

Not if Kosmos 482 hits the venue first. :devilish:

I hate autotune since Cher made a song using it. Well, she CAN sing in tune, has a good voice and only used it for the sound effect. These contemporary TikTok stars can not sing in tune and have no voice. This is the result

Sounds too good! An object designed to survive on Venus should be able to crash through the roof St. Jakobshalle 🤭

I can only recommend you to go there, its really a nice place. Maybe not in ESC week. But especially carnival season could be interesting.

BTW, if you know the Edinburgh Tattoo, the recurring guests of the Top Secret Drum Corps come from there.

I do know it and that Drum Corps are the best act on it, IMHO.

UK BBC broadcaster is promoting its Audio Description and Subtitling production for the ESC .
How are other European countries handling the presentation?

Iceland has me already, not my usual music, but you can't be too drunk to not dance to it. :D

For some reason the blonde lady in the leather boots is my favourite so far.

Many agree. But I must say, it misses my frequency. Italy does Brit Pop? That really has something.... A great song for cruising in your cabrio...

Either way, I think its a remarkable production. Something the EBU was designed for.

Tough decision this time, I am torn between Iceland and Italy... But from the musical perspective, Italy was at least playing one instrument live.... (The playback is a crime in itself. Music should be played and songs should be performed!) And Iceland sounds a bit too much like "Diggy Diggy Hole".

If they now manage to get Celine Dion (Won the ESC with "Ne partez pas sans moi" in 1988 for Switzerland) for the voting time show, I'd be impressed.

(And no, I don't pay twenty cents for getting only a half vote. Then I'd rather not vote at all and just buy the songs I like...)

You know the quality of this years ESC, if a intermission song performance is better than all contestants performances. Käärijä and Baby Lasagna really killed it.
