Hello Everyone,

I have been out for a while but I decided to re-explore the idea of building a sim. I remember few years ago few threads with electronic interfaces to buttons and other stuff...anyone working on such of thing?
Also my latest revision is from 2006, I didn't see any new releases. Anyone has more info about that?

Thanks a lot!

Alex

Currently version 060929, which is Orbiter 2006 Edition with Patch 1 applied is the latest public release version.

The next version is undergoing beta testing right now, but as always no release date.

cockpit building

Hey TexW ...

To answer your main question, yes there are a few of us who have done or tried this. There have been several (3 I think) threads in the past that dealt with cockpit building, they all seem to die out after 6 months or so. I don't know names to refer you to, but just keep searching the archives.
Meanwhile, I know of 2 such projects for sure, and a 3rd individual who is interested in such projects but I don't think he's going to build anything himself. If you'd care to contact me direct email, I'd be glad to share my experiences and progress, I'm pretty sure I could offer some helpful suggestions. (Like RETIRE FIRST and be sure you have plenty of money!)
:-)
Mine is a complete cockpit enclosure with all flight controls on various control panels mounted to a main instrument panel. For guages, readouts, and instruments, I use the on-screen displays native to the Orbiter Sim.
Get back to me (and/or anyone else who's interested in this) at
[email protected] and I'll be glad to send pics, info, etc. <ED>

Thanks.

Thank you for the information. Ed I already sent you an email.

Dave any "new features" preview about the new version?

Hey, Ed. I'm one of those nuts, too. I started a wiki page a while back, http://www.orbiterwiki.org/wiki/Orbiter_cockpits and there's a link to some of your old images, along with a couple others. Take a look over there, Alex, and let us know if you have any questions.
