well I'am not new to orbiter just to the forums ... but there are things in orbiter i haven't done. one being a interplanetary travel. i really really want to figure it out but its very time consuming and frustrating at times. trying to figure it out i spent a total of at least 3days trying to figure out how to goto mars(3 days in a 10 day time period.) i still cant get it i read as many tutorials but i just cant get it right i always either get lost in space or i just crash. if anyone can shed some light please that would be very helpful. thanks!

oh side note: I want to get to mars with the DGIV btw

What tutorials are you looking at?

used go play in space. thats mostly it ... others are just places that i randomly find on google. but they arent downloads just text on a website. go play is space is good it helped me the most but i just cant figure out what im doing wrong.

Try using actual tutorials such as http://www.orbitermars.co.uk/ Start out like this so you can gain the essentials to interplanatary space flight. Practice using TransX or Transfer MFD. Once you get used to them, it will be no problem for you later. Ialso do not suggest using the DGIV for your first time for going to Mars.

I agree with that, DGIV is just a hair harder to use than the dg, besides, if you do get to mars, it would be a bummer if you burned up in re-entry  ;)

Now you are reading my mind.

heheh very true there. umm i been meaning to ask this as well and it just poped into my head. HOW do you use transfer on other planets or does it only work with earth to moon?

The Transfer MFD?

Transfer MFD only works from planets to moons.

TransX goes from planets to planets

Use TransX, it is realy good. Lemme find a tutorial real quick though.

Try this. [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=1464"]IMFD Tutorial - To the Moon and Back[/ame]

wow your quick on the trigger?

The TransX quick start guide (Francis Drake)

This is a really good two page quick reference guide to TransX created by Francis Drake. (well, that's his Orbiter moniker anyway.) Download the PDF here.

The TransX V2.10 manual

Most subjects aren't rocket science. This is. So it needs a tutorial.

Go to The TransX Manual

The TransX MFD V2.10

TransX 2.10 is my previous navigation toolkit. It has tools to enable you to plan and execute a flight to anywhere, from takeoff to touchdown. Originally an attempt to extend the standard Transfer MFD, it is still being extended and enhanced. It even includes all the functions you get in the Encounter MFD.

You know you can run it in windows mode. It is small like a program you minimize for the internet. You can also adjust the size which suits you best.

ha oh ya! oops i normally don't play the game like that so i forgot. thanks again heh
